If you already have a Missouri license for cosmetology or esthetics, you can continue your education by taking SSummit Salon Academy Kansas City’s instructor training course. We are very proud of the education we provide at SSAKC, and it is not surprising that training future instructors is one of our priorities. Graduates of our instructor training program may continue their career by instructing in a school, working in a salon or spa, being a product representative, a platform artist, a school owner, or a school manager.

The course itself is 600 hours and includes classroom instruction as well as practice teaching opportunities. At SSAKC, we are very proud to partner with a number of product brands, including our two main product lines, Dermalogica, for our esthetics program, and L’Oreal Professionnel for our cosmetology program. This means all students, including those in the instructor training program, will have access to professional quality products and tools during their classes and practical training times.

The instructor training program at SSAKC is 600 hours, which can be completed in as little as 18 weeks. This is a full-time program consisting of 35-hour weeks.

Tuition: $7,460 + $186 Kit = $7,646 Total Tuition

What are the prerequisites for enrolling in the instructor training program?

To enroll in our instructor training program, you must have a current Missouri State license in cosmetology or esthetics

Will students in the instructor training program be in the same classes as students in the other two programs?

Students in the instructor training program have their own classes focused on how to teach, classroom management, etc. Instructor trainees have the opportunity to practice teach some of the classes in SSAKC’s cosmetology course and esthetics course. Students in the instructor training program wear black scrubs, which helps differentiate them from the other students.
