Our Barber Crossover Program

Are you a licensed cosmetologist and want to master the art of barbering? At Summit Salon Academy Kansas City, our program spans 45 hours and is designed to help licensed cosmetologists excel in men’s grooming. We focus on the history and the art of shaving. With guidance from experienced instructors, students can not only sharpen their skills but also explore career opportunities in the barbering industry. After completing our program, students can meet the training requirements to take the State Barbering exam, setting them on the path to a successful career in barbering.

How to Apply

If you are ready to take the next step toward your barber education at SSAKC, then we encourage you to fill out our form and schedule a tour of our school. You can book online, text or call us at 816-491-2568.

Ready to enroll? Here are the key requirements:

Have a personal interview with a school official.
Pass an entrance exam.
Complete an enrollment form supplied through the Missouri State Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners.
Provide proof of age (birth certificate, driver’s license, or US passport).
Be at least 17 years old before applying for the MO State Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners exam.
Provide a valid high school diploma, GED certificate, or a high school transcript showing 12th-grade completion.
Submit two or more character references.
Pay a $137 non-refundable application fee.
Sign an Enrollment Agreement with Summit Salon Academy Kansas City.
Complete the admissions personality quiz.
