Pivot Point Fundamentals include theoretical and practical experience in everything you need to know about hair design; hair color; the science of hair care such as microbiology, product knowledge, infection control, etc.; hair texture; skincare and hair removal; and sculpture theory, tools, and services.

The next step is Phase 2, where you’ll continue to study cosmetology theory and attend workshops, then you’ll spend time each day working in our luxury salon on real clients. This practical, hands-on experience is the best way to get the experience you need to succeed in your career. Phase 3 is primarily hands-on practice working in our luxury salon, with some self-study to prepare for your Missouri State Board of Cosmetology exam.

At Summit Salon Academy KC, our 1500-hour cosmetology course takes as little as 11 months to complete when you attend full time (35 hours per week), and 16 months to complete for part-time attendance (23 hours per week). Once you’ve completed the program successfully, you will be qualified to sit for the Missouri State Board of Cosmetology exam to get your cosmetology license.
